No problem John! (and/or Peter)

It was just too late last night to look for the earlier post but .....

Just over a dozen or so posts into this thread, there are a few more pix ...
https://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/...-it-92829.html

The posted pix were from earlier on and I've "neatened up" the installation a bit since then. Still, I'm sure you can get the basic idea. With the framed opening and the supporting platform in place, the opening is a somewhat snug fit around that Frigidaire 5,000 BTU unit. Because the bottom of the AC is not flat, we do stuff some foam into the slight gap at the bottom to seal out any bugs, etc.

At a couple of recent rallies (Roy's Fish Fry and Eggs a la Bourbon), several people visited and remarked how quiet and cool our trailer was.

Best of luck to you all.

Ray

Thank you Ray. I went to Home Depot today to buy some ply wood. Hopefully I can make this mount nice neat. Thanks for all the pictures. [emoji1317]

Just FYI -

I had seen many other window AC mounts that didn't include a platform or pool-noodle/pipe-foam padding.

My own design objectives for the window AC mount were to:
1) avoid damaging the window track or butyl(?) window framing sealant
2) avoid any gelcoat damage by hard surface (plywood) vibrational rubbing
3) avoid breaking/damaging window glass/screen during AC lift/install
4) avoid rainwater leaks or bug entrance into the trailer

The platform that the AC sits on is 16"x16" plywood (1/2" thick)
(see one final attached pic.)

I imagine that my design could still be improved but it seems to meet above objectives.

Best of luck to all!

Ray
