Trillium 1300

Hi, I'm Dave. Just purchased a Trillium 1300 and it needs way more work than I anticipated. Happy to have come across this site.

hi, I'm Lynn and I just purchased a 1975 Trillium & it needs more than my skill set, but I will prevail. My first dilemma is removing the pop rivets, so I can remove the cabinet doors and hopefully eliminate some of the musty smell. I'm in Florida so I need to put ac in it pronto.(I'm melting)I thought the inside height was 74 inches. It doesn't seem that much. I wanted to put in a roof ac, but I'm not sure how much ceiling room that would take. I'm 5'9" and I don't want to be bumping my head on it. Can anyone tell me how much of the ceiling height I would lose with a roof ac? Should I just go with a window ac? That would be the cheaper route. I'm not sure if I'm posting this correctly.

Hi Lynn, I think that you just posted to me and not to the forum. Good luck with you 1975!

Lynn, unfortunately the Trillium roof is not designed to support an air conditioner. If installed, the roof will definitely sag lower and lower over time.

Some owners install a small window air conditioner or a portable wheeled AC unit. Use the search tab above (then the Google search box) to find threads on this topic.

+10 roof doesn’t come close to supporting an AC. If you have an escape window on the rear, a lot of people put one there.

Drilling out cabinet door rivets is easy, just use a small drill bit. You just want the head of the rivet to come off, about five seconds or less with a drill.

The shortcomings of a Trillium are well documented here. They still are outstanding, just not perfect.

Lynn, Trillium did a factory roof mounted AC. They made what I call a saddle for it. This is a separate fibreglass bracket that went the width of the trailer. This is what supported the AC unit. There was also an interior piece.

Randy Bishop rebuilt a Trillium with factory air. He deleted it. He offered the AC saddle for sale, but no one wanted it.
