Moving Scamp water tank vent

My scamp has the vent/overflow for water tank sticking straight down from the bottom of the tank. It is perfectly positioned to be knocked off by a rock. Anyone have experience moving it?

I'd just cut it off where it is so that it is level with the bottom of the tank.

What about creating a guard around it? You could use a floor flange like this with a nipple threaded into it and just screw it to the bottom of the floor over the drain:

It can't be connected to the bottom of the tank because then you could never put water in the tank. Could it be the drain line? Perhaps a user mod? It could be the gray tank vent also... Photos help.. I'll start.

This is my gray tank overflow / vent, and the fresh water drain (on the left). The fresh water vent is built into the filler on mine (no photo). Both are well above the bottom of the frame and gray water tank.
