yellow submarine wrap Casita

Have you ever wrapped your fiberglass trailer? Please let me know what to watch out for in doing so. Wanting to go yellow with a nod to the Beatles Yellow Submarine.

I recall reading somewhere that the wrap was only good for 3 or 4 years before it deteriorated. I would think it would decrease the value if you ever decided to sell the trailer. I know I wouldn't buy it, but others may like it. It's all a matter of taste or opinion.

High quality, thicker automotive vinyl wrap lasts as long as 7 years before cracking and fading. Thankfully it's very easy to remove.

Thanks for the tips - I am not thinking of putting the wrap on to make the Casita more sellable - I think it will be cool. Also, I do have a carport made for it with plumbing and Elec. - it is kind of a guest house

If you need some attention, that'll do it.

Since you said guest house, if it’s parked in a conspicuous spot, you might want to gauge your neighbors’ reactions. If it’s tucked behind an enclosure, then it’s totally your pleasure.

I think it sounds fun!

Go for it! Never mind the doubters and second guessers. A friend of mine in Erie redid her old Jeep in a red Jurassic park theme and the reaction of passersby was always completely positive. Kids will love it. You will get a ton of positive reaction wherever you go guaranteed by people who get tired and bored seeing the same old white and gray campers and cars. You could even add some submarine touches like port windows, a periscope, propellers or tail rudder. Maybe do the interior in the same theme. That would amaze people. Please post pics when it's done.

Is the theme continuing inside? That would be so fun to do up!
I can picture you handing a stack of towels to your guests and telling them, “You’ll be out in the sub.”
If you find a redhead in the bed, it’s my Beatles freak daughter. She’ll be moving in.
Get ready for people wanting to use it as a backdrop for photos…

Very fun...will look cool. If you allow a dog in your submarine.....would he be considered a subwoofer? Have fun with your project!

The topic wasn't really about the theme more than the durability of the wrap products.
So the best advice would be is to make sure the wrap can last a good long time.

^^^Yep, OP got his durability answer in post #3. Expect he doesn't mind comments about the theme since that's how he began the thread.

Love the idea! I was actually thinking about painting my first fiberglass travel trailer (a mid 1980's Boler) with a yellow submarine inspired paint theme. My wife thought it was a bit much so it never happened. It would have looked cool behind one of my old Land Rovers.

My trailer was painted. I think the wrap is a much better plan, long term.

Oh, and get used to people giggling and pointing.
