Axle/spring parts in Canada/US/wherever = Standens

So I'm about done redoing my Surfside chassis and needed a new magnet for one of the brakes. Stopped by Standens today with the magnet and the parts guy knew exactly what it was.

He said sorry, we don't stock it anymore, we phased it out...

Then he looked it up and showed me on his screen. The magnet used to sell for $77. Instead he sold me the whole drum assembly for $52.

$52!?! $just over $110 and I was out with both sides, brand new!?

I was quite blown away actually.

So heads up, solid knowledgable guys located here in Calgary but they'll ship anywhere apparently.

Hello, I just purchased a 78 Surfside that is in need of a new axle, what size and starting angle did you use?
Thank you

Rob you might try sending a private message to the person who wrote the posting you are trying to get an answer about. That individual only wrote that one posting and has not logged on here in the last 2 years. So it is unlikely they will ever see the question you just asked.

Thats amazing! I have been in touch with these guys. They were great. But I live on the east coast (NL), unfortunately and the closest shop it in Quebec, shipping the new parts are ridiculously expensive. You don't happened to have the dimensions from your trailer? I would like to have a new axel built before the winter is over, but all the local shops want me to remove the old one to build off.
