Exclamation Recommendations please where you have stayed - To the FL Keys - Need Full Hookups

Trying to plan a 2018 return trip to the Florida Keys.

We need full hookup.

Going down the FL East Coast, then to the Keys, and finally back up the West Coast.

Any recommendations any one can give us on RV Parks or State or National Parks with full hookups you have personally stayed in?

Thanks!

FL State parks can be reserved 11 month ahead so are normally booked up if you go without res. Commercial parks are normally hard to get I to without reservations. You may already know this but wanted to make sure you know.

We stayed on Big Pine Key, a campground and marina on the left just off the bridge heading south.

For how long you're going to stay on each campground? If you stay for a few days only you don't need a sewer connection, dump station on departure is enough. But you will get much more CG choices.

I almost don't want to say this cause the secret will be out of the bag.....ha!

We stayed 2 full weeks at Indian Pass Campground. We could have easily stayed 2 more weeks!! Not everybody's cup of tea, but we absolutely loved it.

Electric and water at the sites and for a $15 pump fee they will pump you out at your site! So its sorta like full hookups.

Florida Keys campgrounds

Hi,

We've stayed at Geiger Key Marina as well as Boyd's. They are both near Key West. Geiger Key Marina is small and laid back. Boyd's is huge with more amenities like a pool...

Hope this helps.

West Coast of Florida campground

Hi Oliver,

If you're also looking for a place to stay on your trip back up the West coast of Florida, I highly recommend Fort DeSoto Park campground. It's in the St. Petersburg Beach area. The lots are wooded and some are on the water, although it's not the Gulf. However, there are wonderful natural Gulf beaches within the park, as well as bike paths, kayaking, etc. We live in the Tampa Bay area and it is our favorite place to camp!

Wow great tip. Yep gotta have a way to get rid of our grey and black water. Pump out right on your site. Great!

We figure we could move on in 3 days or less to get down to the Keys. Have considered this. Need the next in the chain to have sewer connection. Thankfully some state parks in FL are now starting to offer sewer connection. Hope the trend continues.

Thank your for the recommendation.
Wayne just ran into this site while doing a search for Big Pine Key

Not sure if the below are any good but worth exploring their websies

Big Pine Key FL 33043

Sugarloaf Key Resort KOA Kampground

Where NOT to stay... we stayed here in '89. It was really great but...
Reviews are lousy now. Really has gone down hill.

Yes, we are aware how fast State Parks fill up in 11 mo. in advance. We are keeping an eye out for 2018. Why we want to plan our trip now. Already have some lined up for a separate trip to Topsail Hill and Grayton Beach in late April and early May. Had to pay 11 mo in advance. I saw on the Reserve America it's possible to book at the individual State Parks but I would hate to count on it.

We will definitely keep it in mind should we ever need something down I-75 on a separate trip. Thank you for the tip!

Key West

Boyd's stays rather filled and the sites are close together. I didn't know about the Geiger thank you.
We are considering going super high end around Key West.

Great tip!
