We did finally find a Garmin RV 770. I would like to put a backup camera on our BF. I understand we have to have a hot lead going to the camera for it to work. How have some of you been running this wire since the BF underside is covered plus no wiring on tail lights is accessible. I was thinking about a direct wire ran from the battery to the camera but it would be on at all times plus I would have to use some kind of runway up the back of the camper to get the wire there.

How have some of you hooked the cameras up?

Perhaps tap off of the tail light circuit and just turn the running lights on while towing, not a bad idea anyway.

I tapped into the power for the three center rear identifier lights. My original plan was to mount the camera a few inches below the center light, but the styrofoam makes that kind of difficult and I ended up putting it slightly offset between two lights and only slightly below them. You can see the small pilot hole I drilled before learning that the styrofoam was going to be in the way.

To get at the wiring, you can use your fingers to pull the laminate interior wall away from the ceiling carpet a bit and fish them out, crimp, then put them back. It feeds from the camera through a grommet (included in mine) in a hole I drilled in the body.
