As I sit looking out my window at the Burro, wishing for spring.
I got to thinking that I need to replace the door seal.
I never saw what original seal looked like. It came with some crummy foam stuff, which I replaced with newer crummy foam stuff.
I would like to find out what the original seal was. Burro of course is no help.
Does anyone know what size, shape, etc. the original was?
It's the curved door not the newer flat one.
While I can't speak for Burro ... most of the older, smaller rigs used a barbed-channelled automotive-style bulbed rubber gasket, similar to what you find on cars.
The barbed-channel pushed right on over the edges of the curved door ... with the bulb pushing up against the fiberglass body.
As I said, I'm not sure if this is what Burro did. One tip would be if the thickness of the door tapered down around all the edges. If it does, I'm sure you'll find something to fit (maybe with a little glue) at an automotive store. J.C. Whitney, on line, carries a bunch of sizes, etc. ... but it would be difficult to say which one would fit your situation.

Nope the door is about 3/8 thick or so all around.
The doorway does look like it could take one of those bubble seals
and I tried a piece of one but it was too thick.
I am wondering if its the flat one, the back bubble seal that glues to the door jamb. Shaped like sort of a "D".
I put the channel w/bulb seal on the DOORWAY, not the door. That stuff comes in varying thickness too. My door itself has only the channel trim. perhaps I'll find some thicker channel for it too.
One of the items I received when I bought my 13 foot 1984 Burro was an assembly manual for the ''Burro Kit''. It's about 46 pages of hand written and hand illustrated instructions on how to assemble the Burro.
In the section on installing the door gasket there is a detail that shows the gasket. It appeas to be adhesive backed square foam. (not a round balloon type seal). I have this type of material on my TT and I am not really satisified with it but have not found a better solution yet. A distant friend suggested to try using an old magnetic door gasket from a fridge. I said '' what a great idea but I fear the magnet won't stick to fiberglass''. A narrow strip of steel sheet or flashing bonded to the fiberglass might work though.
I have that same manual John. I must have missed that page tho. I'll look again.
This is the exact same cheesy setup I have. Although it does seal well, it just doesn't have that "official RV" feel. I don't like it either.
It seems that something on the door frame would be better.
Ray horner has an idea I am waiting to try.
I took a look John. Yep I have that page but yours is very clear that it is a square shaped foam gasket.
My page is a little cruder, it shows a thick dark black line where the stuff is applied.
So I guess the foam stufff is original. But I will wait for Ray to see if there is a better way.
