What size tire for a Perris Pacer?

Will be buying 2 new tires, and I've been reading the posts on tires and I have a headache!! Seems like the "typical" trailer size is 165, but my Pacer has P185/70 R13. Should I stick with that or look for a 165/80 R13.

I hope we can get all the damage fixed from the blown tire so I can camp again this season---grrrrr!

Thats no fun! Of course it would happen in the middle of the season. As a matter of learning for me, what additional damage happened? I have had car tires go while driving and it was just a matter of getting a new tire on the rim. Is there somethign more fragile about a trailer rim? Is here something that one can do while towing to minimize problems?

Hi Pam,

Who would have thought one little blown tire-------???? It tore off the cap to the electrical cord outlet, the red plastic cover of a side light was gone, there was a repaired crack on the side of the camper that "recracked" AND it tore a hole right through the fiberglass on the bottom exposing the storage area underneath a dinette bench.

This happened on our very first camping trip with the Pacer (in June!) This is the first opportunity we've had to focus on getting it fixed.

I'm trying to post pictures, but haven't figured out how to size them down on my Mac.

P185/70 R13?

That may be part of your problem. "P" designates Passenger service.

If you live in the west, Les Schwab handles Carlisle:

And inflate the tires to their rated pressure. I run mine at 50psi per Trilliums reccommendations.
