Belly band on a 76” Trillium 1300

Hello, We’re replacing the vinyl molding insert for our 76 Trillium. It’s currently at the shop getting new paint but would like to go pick some up to put in when we get it back. Anyone know what size to get? 7/8”, 1”? I’ll attach a photo we took before. We could just wait to get it back and measure it then but if you guys know it would help us speed the process. Thanks
-Pamela

Do a search of this forum on Trillium belly band repair. Known design flaw, well documented repair. The belly band repair should be completed prior to any exterior painting.

Search via google, there are hundreds of documented repair discussions. Its one of the worst design flaws on the vintage Trilliums.

Randy Bishop and David Tilston are two forum members that have owned multiple vintage Trilliums and are well versed in the repair. I patterned my repair after their work: some Randy suggestions, some David.

Thank you. The belly band itself is in great condition and won’t need repair. Just the vinyl trim insert that fits into the band needs to be replaced. It just clips into the belly band to cover the rivets. Thanks for the reply, I’ll check to see if there is some information on that forum

It has nothing to do with the condition of the metal band itself. Mine was in great condition! Most out there are in very good condition. It was the method Trillium used to attach it. Discover now, discover later.

Thumbs up

Hello, Donny T here in Nova Scotia. The vinyl you are looking for can be found at most camper trailer shops. It comes in a couple different colours but mostly black in stock. I bought 2 rolls at $24.95 ea for my Trillium 4500 but had more than enough. One roll might do a 1300 but ask the length and measure your own camper first to make sure. Good luck and stay safe.
