Note the orientation of the opening in the "C" extrusion - that is best for your roof application. The product is available from Sailrite on line - they carry an extensive line of quality products & have super tutorial vids on their site.

That would have worked for us prior to last years body work and paint. I removed the awning rail because I didn't like how it broke up the curves of the roofline. (Personal Preference)
Instead, we use two industrial suction cups to hold the tent to the roof of the boler.
While camping, attaching the suction cup to the front roof is easy as I can climb on the tongue box. The suction cup on the back side of the camper poses more challenges. But nothing a small step-ladder can't fix.

I owe you one Mark - seeing the Backroads set up in a previous post was an epiphany to say the least > For a couple of years I've been pondering the concept of a quickly deployed or stowed (under 5 minutes) rain proof, self supporting (tensioned) shelter for one night stops, or for quick protection when arriving in a downpour for an extended stay. I've seen various iterations but nothing really nailed all the requirements. I ordered one also (thanks again) off Amazon and am busy on some tweaks to it...

Here's the build concept for quick deploy + misc ;
Keder Rail attachment.
Repurpose an old rain fly to extend the 6' wide top flap up over the center point of the roof to insure no water drips down the door side of the trailer > it will be pulled taught by a couple lines attached to existing pad eyes on the belly band on the far side.....also extend the bottom valence below the zip door by ~6" across the 8' width.
Add 2 additional interior ceiling hang straps to support a ~54" cross bar to hang wet clothes or whatever.
McNett's Seam Grip mixed 50% w/toluene applied to all orange clip webs @ their stitch points & any other possible stress/leak locations.
Water/weatherproof exterior w/303 Fabric Guard (best in the biz, only coating approved by Sunbrella)

Ditching the factory duffle for a 195cm ski bag for this reason > The fiber glass pole's ferrules will be taped at various locations so they break down to ~5' sections - they will lay flat and be tied together at the valence below the zip door upon breakdown while the unit remains attached to the Keder Rail. The unit will be "rolled up" from the bottom, slid off the Keder Rail, then stuffed in the long bag which is waterproof. This method also facilitates deployment....All good "Theory" of course HaHa!! I'll keep you posted as to how it flies...Once again, appreciate the inspiration - have been a wicked slacker as of late on the Scamp....

Hanging pole

Couple shots of the finished closet pole Mark - used some old tent poles & added 2 - 3/4" balls to each end to hang a coat on & protect the tent fabric. Hanging straps were sewn directly to the exterior pole strap locations. Plenty of headroom to walk under.

Great job! I have a 1980 13ft Boler. Where did you get your tongue box and what are the dimensions? Thanks!

Summer camping 2023 renovations have kicked off!

We just finished creating a screen door out of a magic mesh screen we had. It took some sewing and a snap instalation tool.
So far so good. Click image for larger version

Another improvement to the new screen "door" DOOR HANDLES!

I found the sweet spot where grabbing the curtains would assure all the magnets lines up and closed, then added grab-tabs.
Now there is no more guessing where to grab, if the curtain doesn't reseal itself. Click image for larger version
