Boler Interior Restoration

Hello!!

We recently got a 73 13ft Boler and unfortunately the ensolite had been removed and half replaced with poorly applied closed cell foam. We ultimately decided to scrap everything because it was going to be challenging to work around the existing foam. We’re going to apply a foam or reflectix but first need to get the shell ready for new insulation. There is a HEAVY amount of residue from the old foam. Wondering how close to the fibreglass we would need to get in order to properly adhere new insulation…

Attached some photos for reference!

Looking forward to getting to the next step of this process.

I suspect the best alternative to the old trusty Ensolite is cork. I don't personally know anyone with a cork lined boler but I have seen several posts on the subject.

Hello Heather,
I would remove the residue from the surface to ensure that whatever you are adhering to the surface will stick.
You can use goo gone and or sand paper to sand the surface.
