My 2018 16’
Casita and I spent the winter parked in the Florida sun for 6 months. Mostly I left the
windows open and the blinds up to stay cool. If it was going to rain, I’d close
windows and blinds. When I came back to the camper after
windows and blinds closed and the sun shining, there would be a strong chemical smell that gives me an instant headache. It clears out quickly when I open windows and run the fan. After several tries, I found the source of the smell is the blinds. Could be dust they picked up all those days the breeze was filtered thru them or the man made material of the blinds breaking down in the sun. Very thoroughly vacuuming them didn’t help. These are the soft white cloth-like blinds that lift up from the bottom on strings. Anyone else having this problem? Solutions? It’s so bad I can’t close up the camper and run the AC because the smell gets super strong. And it’s not coming from the AC.
