Where are you guys plugging in? Extension cord run under the bed/dinette?

I'm gonna have to take a closer look at your pics and such, and hope the window is still big enough to support this idea!!!!

Super stoked now!

Hi Sean, If you are ordering up a new Scamp I strongly suggest adding AC as an option. It would be money well spent. Both AC and gas furnace allow you to be comfortable in all climates and conditions. Will also improve resale value.

I need to fit it inside my garage. I can’t do that with AC on top. I hope to not be reselling it anyway! Believe me, it’s not an easy decision!

I hear you as I did enjoy being able to get our Scamp into our garage for storage. We had some kind of TV antenna on ours so had to take lots of air out of tires to get it to clear. You do have to have 8' doors though and I had to adjust the up on the doors to clear as well. Our small garage door made it that we only parked indoors during storage as it was too much work to get it in a 8' x 9' door.

I realize your thread is older but I was recently tagged in it. Are you making these anymore? Did it work? If you are I would like to buy one. If not, would you perhaps mind sharing the specs. I just recently bought a Scamp and it doesn’t have AC and I am needing it for my upcoming trip to AZ.

No longer have any, no future plans to make. My original plans are on post #36 of this thread, follow them exactly, there is no room for any modification, the wood thicknesses are all needed to make it fit. It took a lot to get it right.

I strongly suggest anyone thinking of purchasing a new Scamp, Casita, etc, never order a new one without BOTH ac/furnace no matter where you may live. And I think Scamps are all pre-wired for ac if you want to add it. The only benefit to no ac on our scamp was it fit under our 8' garage door if we removed air from the tires.
