The hole in the closet will be for our little dogs food clothes leash etc.
The piece cut out wil become the door,,,probably.
The hole under the seat will be a clothes drawer, hopefully to ease the
access to clean socks!!
The underseat unit will be replaced. there will be a seat there but higher
to accommadate a potapotti under the seat by the door. By the counter
there will be no underseat or cushion but will become a deep storage for
things like my big box of corn flakes, bread fruit etc. will probably end up
with some shelves there.
Don't expect a highend quality build like some of the fellas here do but useable.
I expect to add +- 30pounds to the front but I'm a little light anyway so
don't forsee any problem.
Along with a lot of other changes this needs to be done by late Jan. as we are off
to SoCal for a couple of months so we'll see how the workmanship holds up when we get down to the crunch,,LOL

Couple other things we're doing. found this stainless stove with cover on Kijiji (like craigslist but in Canada only,,I think). Installed and makes a nice addition. Also replacing the major po-rivets, the upper cabinet, counter and closet with stainless nylocks and bolts with rubber washers.
Thought I'd point out that the hole cut in the cabinet has been planned so
when installed the microwave over the wheelwell, on a shelf in the bottom of the closet, I built in plywood supports. Also looking for ideas to mount our little flat screen TV, so far no good ideas have come. We will be parked for 2 months in SoCal close to the ocean so need something to do after the sunset,,,,,,,,,,,,

Ah! I've been eyeing that dead space at the bottom of my closet for a while. Glad to see someone get the guts to make use of it! Maybe I'll do the same. Nice work.

The cut went through a cross member under the front seat so I reinforsed
the area. Hard to see but there is a 1x2 thin wall tube and then a piece of 16 ga bent to support the top and bottom of the area. I used the famous strength test. I put the floor in and jumped on it and didn't go through so it's good to go. lol Next is to glass in the floor, being careful not to let the steel and fiberglas come in contact,,may want to get the frame off one day! The last picture shows the potapotti close to its mount postion. The pot is about 2.5 inches higher than the original seat. At first I was goint o modify the frame to keep it under the OEM seat but then realized raising the seat had no downside and allowed the sock drawer to be bigger,,,,,,,win-win

`just a quick update. Glased in the piece i turned upside down.
I have an old mahoganey(?) door that delaminated so i used some of that for the sides under the glas. Had to do it in 2 applications, one to put the sides on and one to secure to the trailer shell. Was careful to ensue that i didn't glas the shell to the frame. Will scuff it off and apply some auto body filler to smooth it out and paint. I'm not much of a cabinet maker so we'll see how the drawer turns out next

No pics yet working at walling in the area and designing the drawer.
Gonna be big drawer, 2 feet deep and 15 inches high and will glid out 18 inches. Using some old ply I had laying around for design build and getting
birch ply for the finish unit.
Also looking at a swing up kitchen counter addition. Will use the upper bunk hinge hardware and ,,,well still thinking.

thought I better finish the bodywork on the area before I went too far.
Had some old paint but no good will get fresh for final assembly.
Starting to get a feel for the drawer, Picked up some 1/2 and 1/4 inch Birch ply today. I can see where things can go wrong quick trying to get
the drawer slides in, looks like they need to be square every which way from Sunday!!! Think I'll build the drawer box next. I plan to step it up into
that higher front part too.

Well after a couple of trips to the lumber store I actually got the thing to work! My drinkin days are over but the can with the red top is about he size of a beer can. Happy with the progress today although the drawer is just tacked together for test fit. Now need to make another trip to lumber store for top etc. Need to find someone to modify the cushions. Don't have a sewing machine capable of sewing it or I'd try that too.

Question!

I know you've got the porta potty on a raised platform- is the intention there to flip-up-and-use right in place?

I ask because I tried something similar and found that if the built sidewall was high enough to conceal the toilet, using it in place caused what you might call semipermanent creasing of the thighs due to sidewall contact...
