Unplanned 82 Burro Purchase

Hello. On Tuesday I unexpectedly purchased an 82 Burro, sight unseen. I have wanted a small vintage trailer for a few years but never pursued it. On Monday my brother told me about the unloved Burro in a friends backyard. The next day it was in my driveway.

The outside is moldy and rough but no obvious cracking. The door and windows are all in good shape. Everything inside looks original, and it smells like it too. It even came with one work boot on the floor. LOL

I have no idea what I am getting myself into with this project but I am excited. The idea of taking off for a few days with our dogs sounds like a nice form of freedom. (As long as someone will feed our two backyard hens.)

Thank you all for participating in this wonderful forum of information .
Shelley

welcome! Barkeepers Friend and a green scrubby should take care of the icky surfaces. Be sure and take 'before' and 'after' photos, we love photos!

Thank you. I'm very exited. I've started "cleaning" and researching. I need to make templates of cubbie hole covers and cushions. I need to get that stuff out of the Borro ASAP. Worried about the floor. But I know we can do this thing.

I bought a much newer Scamp but it had sat closed up for a year with a door leak, and so the interior stank. But hey, "memory maker" as Donna is so fond of saying!

"Unplanned 82 Burro Purchase" I love that title. Sort of like a 40+ year old couple that suddenly have a new baby!

Welcome! Good luck with the cleaning and prep, once you get out in it I'm sure you'll be even more glad about your impulse buy
