'78 Surfside stock heater testing question

Anybody have any idea about the usefulness of the stock heater in my Triple E?
When I purchased the trailer a portable plug in was inside a cabinet. I am just about to dig into getting the original going-or not. If the control board is burned out I was told it could be spendy to replace, so I'm wondering if it is worth the effort.
Thanks,
adam

It would help if you tell us what heater is installed, but I would suggest that you also follow the thread currently running titled "Scamp 13 Furnace Question" as it may be dealing with the same type of heater

OK, I'm guessing this furnace is nothing like that one. The words "control board" are a dead giveaway.

Well it was an easy startup of the heater. No fan or control board inside. The dude at the rv shop kinda freaked me out. All I had to do was fire up the pilot light. Done deal.
