SOLD: 1999 Burro 17' Wide Body, $8,500

This late model California-built Burro is in very good condition. It’s lightweight, easy to tow and has a roomy interior. We have traveled and camped with it throughout much of the western U.S., staying mostly at in forest service, national park, state park and BLM campgrounds with no hookups, so replaced the air conditioner with a Fantastic Fan. With a catalytic heater and the ice box, there’s no requirement to connect to electricity. Hot water for showers and the kitchen sink is available by filling the fresh water tank manually and using the electric water pump and hot water heater. When hookups are available, electric and water lines may be connected.

The Burro is located in SE Arizona (Sierra Vista). It has been covered with a custom-made sun-resistant fabricate cover since we purchased the trailer in 2002.

The Burro has a double-wall, insulated fiberglass body, so it is easy to heat if needed, and it stays cooler in warm weather. The interior height is 72”. The large rear dinette converts into a 55” wide, 7’ long bed, so there is no cramped sleeping. The front dinette converts into a single bed. Storage compartments are available under the front and rear dinette seats; above the rear dinette seats, kitchen counter and cook top; and under the kitchen sink. We installed basket shelves (removable) in the “hang-up” closet and a shelf (also removable) at the end of the rear bed.

The kitchen area has a sink, counter and 3-burner propane cook top. The propane tank also serves the 6-gallon hot water heater. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. The trailer has been checked out by a local RV repair shop, and the few minor deficiencies were corrected. A new battery was installed in December 2017. Some cosmetic cracks are present in the exterior fiberglass gel coat.

Other features and specifications:
Listed dry weight: 1,800 pounds (Measured weight when loaded with gear, food, clothes, etc. was 2,100 pounds)
Load capacity: 3,500 pounds
Exterior height: 8’
Fresh, grey, and black water tanks
Screen door and window screens
Electric brakes
2” ball hitch
6-pin electric connector
Propane tank
Tongue jack with wheel
Stabilizer jacks on rear bumper
2” hitch receiver installed on rear bumper for bicycle rack

I'll post photos as soon as I can figure out how to do it.

Mark - What photos would you like and how can I send them to you.

I sold the air conditioner after replacing it with the Fantastic Fan. My Burro was manufactured with an ice box, rather than a refrigerator.
