Advice refinishing Burro stove

I would like to refinish my Burro's stovetop (Vitreo Safari). The rust was easy enough to remove, but there are unsightly areas left where the rust was removed. The metal appears to be stainless steel and I think it was plated somehow.

I thought to just clean it up and refinish with high-heat paint, but the directions on these products advise not to use if in direct contact with flames.

I would appreciate any advice on this matter, or if anyone knows where this same stove can be purchased.

Hi Alan,

I painted the stove top in my Burro a few years ago with black engine paint, designed for high temperatures. So far there have been no problems. Admittedly, we don't use it much but it does get fired up a few times a year. So far, no signs of paint failure.
