NEW Casita outlets not working, please help!
Hi all!
The wall outlets in my Casita suddenly stopped working, the USB outlets light up but the AC wall outlets will not work. I’ve tried resetting them and nothing. This Casita is NEW, just delivered to me 2 weeks ago and haven’t used it yet. The outlets were working upon arrival. I have NOT tried to run the air con on the battery or anything crazy like that either. Just ran all the regular testing/set up of fridge, water systems, etc.
It’s a 17ft Standard. Unfortunately I have had lots of stress since receiving the trailer, inside was trashed with chunks of fiberglass and paint everywhere from the factory. I’ve spent most of my time cleaning up & getting it habitable since it was delivered & now this. Very frustrating after hearing so many good things about these trailers! I hope this is an easy fix.
Hope everyone is doing well out there, sorry to complain! Let me know if you have any advice. I’m not knowledgeable with electrical issues and this is my first trailer/home.
Thanks! ✌️

1. The Air Conditioner will not work running off the battery! It needs shore power (110 ac).
2. The electrical issues - which outlets are you talking about? The AC outlets should have circuit breakers and the 12VDC would have fuses, like automotive fuses. Make sure you get the right replacements!! And pick up a fuse tester like https://www.amazon.com/Automotive-Ke...search&sr=8-11. It can save you a lot of headaches.
3. As to the stress and clean up, are you talking a brand new Casita from the factory ?? If it is new from the factory and it was shipped in that condition, you should have never accepted it unless you talked to Casita and reached a agreement to accept it that way. In my opinion - Casita owes you!!! Call them and tell that the issue!!! Your time is more valuable than some kid they hire to do that kind of work .

Hey! Thanks for the reply!!
Yes! I did NOT try to run the AC off battery! So it’s not to fault, I haven’t run much of anything but tested the fridge and the fan, tested the AC outlets with a phone charge but that’s all.
Sorry I meant the AC wall outlets! I tried resetting them and it didn’t do , so weird because the USB ports are lit up and everything else is working (fridge, fab, lights, etc). Good ideas, I’ll check out that link.
Yes, NEW from the factory!!!!! It was crazy! 2022 model shipped out to California. Maybe it was too far haha?
I can’t believe that. I stupidly thought that this was standard when receiving a Casita! I figured it came a little messy and that was expected due to their extreme busyness. Oh my *♀️ The man who delivered it was VERY old, which isn’t a problem, simply dealing with his communication upon arrival was difficult and he hardly gave us a chance to check it out before he took off. It was also scratched up a lot (we didn’t notice that til later, as with many things….)
Do you think they’ll listen if I call? I figured they’d say I was either making it up or being dramatic cause that is standard. Oh my , my mistake !!!!! Thanks for the help.
I really hope they’ll listen given i “accepted” the trailer already. it’s been so disappointing when I’ve heard so many good things about them.
Thanks again

Are you connected to the shore power? AC receptacles work from shore power only.

If stuff is actually broken inside or there are scratches on the exterior that you can't polish out, by all means contact Casita. On the other hand, if it's construction debris that's bothering you, just vacuum it up.

If you are connected to shore power, then check the outside GFI if you have one, they often power up to four outlets.

Is the trailer plugged in? Your lights and fan will run on 12 v if you’re not plugged in, but the 110 outlets only work if the trailer is plugged in (that’s what is meant by “shore power,” although that’s technically for a boat plugged in while docked).
Did your Casita come with an owner’s manual? You might want to look for Eileen Trombly Glick’s A-Z Owners Guide. It’s quite comprehensive, from what I understand.

What did you test the outlets with? Maybe whatever you used has a short that blew the circuit breaker. Look in the fuse box panel and reset all of them to make sure they are all on. Sometimes they look on and are not completely on. The 110 circuits should be like a house circuit breaker. The fuses run the 12V. Check the GFI outside on the outer outlet on the curbside of trailer. Pop it off and on. Get a circuit tester to make sure the wiring is wired correctly if you can get one of the outlets to work. Do you have a microwave? If so unplug it to make sure it is not the problem. Take pictures of the scratches and send them to Casita. If you haven't cleaned it all up yet take pictures of that also. Casita usually cleans them up. We picked ours up new and spent one night in a campground nearby to find any problems. Went straight back to the factory the next day and they corrected the dragging screen door. We've been happy with ours since 2007. A call to Casita is in order and talk to the salesman and the office. Good luck and enjoy. Hopefully your first trip is not back to the factory.

check for a tripped circuit breaker, or possibly a GFCI plug mounted within the trailer, you should have an owners manual if this is a brand new trailer.
GFCI plugs are usually the first item on an electrical circuit, and they protect all the downstream plugs.

Not trying to be critical but I think there is a need to fully understand the systems involved and highly suspect there is nothing wrong. Yes, USB ports will light up being 12V, the fridge will work, etc. As far as a clean camper I guess I would expect to hit it with a shop vac and would just suck it up so to speak. My expectations are so low I am nearly always satisfied.

Are you plugged into shore power? No shore power, no power at AC outlets. That’s how it works.
Safe travels.

This happens with car repair threads all the time and everyone hopes to know the answer making it useful for later diagnosis. By no means did anyone want to embarrass the OP or hurt any feelings as it is all about learning. We all learn either by doing or being taught. Being taught is usually better than trial and error. That said, I hope they come back and share.

Wall Outlets
Hi, My 2020 Casita only has one outlet that has a GFI, so if that is tripped, all will be off, It is the outlet just below the gas stove and should have a LED light to tell you if it powered. Good luck.

Outlet not working
I was so excited when I saw the post about resetting the GFCI, because our outlet by the rear bed in our 2020 16’ Scamp is not working. I went out and hit the reset button, but didn’t get the outlet to work. I plugged a 1500 watt ceramic heater into that outlet to dry the camper out. Did that fry the receptacle? Everything else at the back of the trailer works.
