Recently got back from our longest
EggCamper vacation. 8 nites at the Jersey Shore. Besides the fact that it was wonderfull to get away and the Jersey FOOD IS TERIFFIC, I'd like to include my personal observations of the
EggCamper on a long (to us) vacation.
Gas mileage was 14-16 MPG with the Nitro. The
EggCamper tows easily with no problems without a W/D hitch or an anti-sway bar. I was overjoyed with the operation of my modified underbed storage door operation (much easier to get things out from under bed). I made a cloths rack (to dry towels etc. before putting away for cleaning) out of PVC pipe which worked well and was very usefull (it mounts to the back bumper). Fully opened the
awning for the 1st time, it's a really nice extra to have. The 12V only
refrigerator worked perfectly, even had one chicken breast we never cooked which stayed frozen all week. Everything in the EggCamper worked flawlessly and made it a very enjoyable get-a-way. Only thing on the down side was we spent 5 nights with full hook-ups (no problems) then we spent 3 nights with water and elec. only (no sewer) had no problem with 8 gal black tank, but the grey tank (24 gal?) was full the 3rd night (lesson learned: cannot take a shower every nite without sewer hook-up).
We're looking forward to our next outing, probably the mountains of PA. And hoping to be able to take an even longer EggCamper vacation sometime in the future in "Our little bit of Paradise".
