Scrambled Egg Meet - June 11 - 13, 2009 (Th-Sa). Location is the Apostle Island area Campground, ½ mile south of Bayfield, WI on highway 13 and ½ mile West on county Highway J. This area has many attractions: boat cruises, sail boating, orchards (dates should be strawberry time), musical and theatrical productions, unusual restaurants, and of course, lots of the usual shopping. The campground has 60 sites and some cabins. Reservations can be made after the first of the year and we suggest early reservations. The campsites are mostly in a horseshoe arrangement so we will have a lot of togetherness. The reservation procedure is a bit strange. They will send us the 2009 registration forms , You contact us and we will send one to you and you fill it out and send with remittance to the camp ground They do not accept credit cards. Campsites are $25.00. We are guaranteed last years price and the campground will only take personal checks. LouAnn and Lyndon Laney will serve as hosts. Contact them by phone: 320-274-8278 or E-mail: lthree[at]lakedalelink.net. Address is: 5426 Mowery Ave NW, Annandale MN 55302

Looking forward to attending.

How should we work this since it is a strange reservation system. Should we send SASE (self addressed envelopes) to you Lyndon so you can mail us the registration form?

Will bring this back up to the top in January to remind us all to register however you want.

Nancy and Fred

Yes they are to send me the forms after the first of the year. And I think we will be able to do it in most cases over the internet we will work on it after the first just thought I would get the idea going sooner.

Boy you sure are lucky Nancy. You get to go to this gathering at Bayfield and then still have time to come West to the Oregon Gathering.

I just loved Bayfield area. My campsite at Dalrympl City park was just great over looking the water and Madeline Island.

I think this will be the closest meet to the Chicago area. Is this just a trailer park or are there tenting sites available there or nearby? We have a small (but excellent) tent and would just want to walk over and say hi. And of course admire all the assorted eggs. We would probably have to bring our three always leashed corgis, who have been camping with us before.

As of now there's no way to be sure we can get those days off and I'd still have to talk my wonderful husband into it, but if we can't get to this one I'm sure we'll get to another one at some other time.

Warning: About half of our camping trips feature thunderstorms or at least heavy rain and falling temps. With luck we will not bring our camping weather with us.

(Can you see why I really really want a comfy egg to stay in?)

Judith

Hi Judith,

Hope you can come to Bayfield and meet us. If you haven't seen many eggs it would be an opportunity for you to see different models.

I think there are tent sites. Call the number Lyndon listed at the top of the thread and ask.

If you haven't been to Bayfield, it is a treat. Try to make the trip.

Thanks, Nancy!

According to the campground website they have a two pet limit, which we completely understand and respect. We're over the limit by one. Our current very tight budget does not allow for kennels so we'll have to take a pass this year.

Now that we know about fiberglass trailers we'll keep an eye out for eggs while we're camping. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them.

Best,
Judith

Judith,

You might want to call the campground and explain that you want to be with our group. Maybe they would make an exception.

Also, there is a town campground (Dalryumple) on the water. I think their fees are less? We could still get you in for a visit.

Registry
Sent our registration off in the mail today.
Hopefully the Surburban will have it's new motor by then.
Hope fully we will get the cushions made for our new cushionless casita this month, and start sorting out what will fit in the new trailer, Downsizing from a 25"Sunlite and a 13' Burro is a challenge.
Hopefully winter has been kind to everyone.

Hi all;

I heard Bayfield was full. Glad we are on the list. Will be happy to see old friends and make new friends. It was a long winter.

Now I'm really jealous.

This is almost the same gang we had at Grand Marais. A wonderful group but then all our fiberglass groups are wonderful.

Have a very nice time.
