New Eggcamper

Hi All

After reading all the great postings from Eggcamper owners and visiting Jim and his factory a few weeks ago, we (husband, daughter, dog, and me) got our Eggcamper this week. We are going on our shakedown cruise next week at a state park right next to my husband's office and about 0.5 hr from home - very convenient. This is my first experience with a camper - my parents are still tenting at 70! I'm very excited to learn so much more from this great community.

Welcome Ann,
What part of Ohio are you located? We are having a Egg rally in July in the Poconos, maybe 90 minutes north of Philadelphia. Look under the rally section- We have 4 egg campers attending-2007 thru 2010- yours would be the first 2011. We also have another 16 fiberglass campers, all forum members also attending. Try to make it.

Congratulations!
These fiberglass eggs sure beat a tent. I tented for many years, but I don't sleep on the ground anymore.
We love our EggCamper. Hope you can make the rally at the Poconos.

Ron

Welcome, and enjoy your egg. Will your daughter sleep on the side dinette or, as Jim told us how some do it, sleep on the flat floor, partially under the bed?

If you ever make it to the Florida panhandle, we'll have to have a mini-rally at one of the beautiful parks in this part of the South. We leave tomorrow for Suwannee River State Park and then on to Hunting Island State Park in SC.

WOW! Great! We got ours about a month ago and still haven't had a chance to try it out between weather and appointments (we're old farts), but hoping for before the month is over. What are you going to tow with? We're gonna use our Chrysler minivan.

Thanks for all of the greetings!

We're towing with a Honda Odyssey - worked well for our trip home. The lower speed (60 mph vs. 75 mph or city driving) seemed to compensate for our mpg so we didn't experience too high of a gas consumption rate.

We will try to have our daughter sleep in the area below the bed. It looks fun.

Pencil and paper is an excellent idea. We'll take pics and post this week too. We'll have to see how it goes our first couple of trips before deciding on the Poconos rally - sounds like a great time!
