Work of the day,
Install my 90w solar panel as a rear rockguard/ rain diverter..
Tought i would do it in two hours,..took me the whole day!

Detail of the installation

Panel is about 15 lbs, Panel framing is very sturdy so i attached directly to it.
I used a regular piano hinge with sheet metal screw into the panel framing. On the camper side i used 4 x 1/4" bolts with nuts. Two closer to the center and one at each end. The two in the middle have a bar in between them inside the camper to spread the load. I had to use thick nylon spacers for the ones at the ends as the camper is rounded ... Behind the hinge is a lot of butyl tape and marine/rv silicone, over the hinge i placed some double sided tape and a biycle tube splitted in half over the tape that will stop water from going trough the hinge.... For the wires, i simply used the belly band as an attachement point with zip ties, drilling trough the belly band( its over an inch ) wires run down following the band and go into the camper via an old drain hole under it.

We tought about a backsplash but find most of the solutions very expensive(got things to fix in the house that are more urgent) . Since we dont cook much inside, we will probably leave it as it is. I'm thinking of making a piece of wood over the stove that would be attach with an hinge at the back, when flipped down it becomes counter space, when flipped up it's a backsplash...

Bernard, good thinking. I like that idea! I do not choose to cook inside my camper either. With the bear problem where I live, the camper would be "Can Tuna" for them.

I haven't cooked in my Burro either, I just like the idea of covering a lot of little holes made by POs. And I like the backsplash that Pam (I think it was Pam) did. Those wavy parts of the wall are discouraging.

Woke up sunday am with no specific plans in mind for my day, so i decided to build a table to hold my two burner stove.
I made it using an old bicycle rack and some sçrap metal pieces i had aroud...total cost 5$ for a u-bolt.

HI all,
season is coming to an end, I did not use the trailer as much as I would like to, but that life...next year will be better.

I was thinkering about future mods, and the main thing that bugs me and my wife is the bed size.

Since we don't use much of the kitchen anyways, I was thinking of removing the sink area and half of the entrance cabinet to extend the bed a good 12''
I could fit a very very tiny sink/faucet, good enough for brushing teeths at night...

comment ? ideas?

Someone did a mod to extend the bed between the cabinets. Don't remember who. I recall it would slide out from under the bed and then retract when not in use.

I gave some thought to widening the bed in my Scamp but decided it was too much trouble. I am going to try one of the "T" shaped bed extension mods and see how that sleeps. If that does not work I will just limp along until retirement when I can get that new Escape or Oliver. Love your window shade solar panel!
