Ensolite off wood trim in Trillium

All,

I've taken out my windows in the Trillium and am going to replace the wood on the inside. Trying to be careful when removing the ensolite from the wood it's glued into so I dont tear it.

What's the best method to remove it from the old wood? I've read water in a search, just wondered if anyone had any other ideas to consider.

Thanks!

-Jason

Sometimes the Ensolite will peel off easily, especially if the wood is very rotten and damp, otherwise it can be still strongly glued. I used a variety of scrappers, putty/utility knives, but curiously the tool I found worked the best was my brake adjustment tool.
You still have to be careful not to damage the Ensolite but it's the tool I used the most.
If you don't have one, most auto parts have it and it's not very expensive.

Thanks for the tips, appreciate them.

A few pieces of inside wood had rot, but some were in great shape where the glue really stuck.

I'll try the scraping tool and gently try that.

Thanks!

Getting the Ensolite off the wood without damage was for me the worst part of the whole window resealing job. Sometimes even if the wood was totally rotten the damn Ensolite was still glued like crazy. They sure used a good glue back then!!

For sure, it was a bit nerve racking, I'm going to put new Vinyl tripm on the outside of the ensolite in a internal window frame so that saves me a bit with the first 2"'s if it tears a bit.

Today I'm going to start grinding off/out all of the metal tabs around the belly band I took off, hoping that doesnt become too tedious.

I've taken everything out of the camper but the ensolite, so I can clean/prep/paint the inside.

I really want the inside fiberglass to be white instead of the yellow color, it's been suggested I use a two part marine paint on it for durability.
