19' Scamp Front BathRoom Waste Water Plumbing

I am completing a 19' Scamp Refit that the previous Owner started.
I have replaced the shower pump that had been removed and want to know the following:

1.Do I plumb the sink in before or after the pump?
2.What size and type of hose should I use for the line from the pump to the grey water tank?

Thank You

Tom Johnson

I can't speak to the type of hose but the sink and shower should come together to a single hose that enters a filter like this https://www.scamptrailers.com/product/grey-water-filter and from there it goes to the pump.

Hose should be 5/8" from the pump to the tank. I use clear hose with cord reinforcement. On old scamps they used garden hoses. The hose leaves the water pump and goes through the open frame tube above the axle to the tank. Scamp uses 3/4" EMT clamps to support the hose. If you have a front bath they clamp the hose to the outside of the frame until it reaches the open frame tube above the axle.

So that means that you have to use this pump every time you use the sink as well as the shower?

Yes. That's correct. The grey tank is mounted in the rear and the pump moves the waste water to the tank. The filter keeps the pump from gumming up. When you notice the drain slowing some you need to crawl under and clean the filter screen. How often depends on how much you're showering or using the sink. Hope this is helpful.

One more thought...
Because the pump is mounted outside it can freeze and crack overnight when temps get below freezing. Something to keep in mind if you're camping in colder weather. We keep a jug of RV antifreeze in the shower and right before bed we dump a bit in the sink, run the pump a second or two until it gurgles and we avoid having to replace the pump. It's a cheap solution to avoid ruining the pump.
