Wood Veneer in 1987 19' scamp

I am replacing the plywood in my 1987 19' scamp.
I have the "deluxe model" with wood cabinets.
Does any body know what veneer is in the original?
If not should I just get a solid core birch plywood and stain with a reasonable stain?

People keep calling it solid wood, but it is indeed a veneer. I think it is called high density fiberboard. But solid core birch plywood would sure look nice.

Mine is actually plywood but the rig is 38 years old.

I stand corrected
I just ripped it out and now see it is 1/2" compressed crap board.
Lasted nearly 40 years - not bad.

I guess that i.will just have to make do with 1/2" Birch veneer as a substitute. (-;
