Just a quick question. Someone told me their Boler weighs only 750 lbs and my Boler has 1700 listed on it. Could anyone share their Boler weight?

Thx!

The 750 lb weight is probably for the empty and dry trailer (and maybe only the axle, and it probably isn't that light anyway...). The 1700 lb posted on a 13' Boler is likely the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), or the maximum which the trailer is allowed to be including optional equipment, propane, water (if it has a freshwater tank) and cargo.

Actual ready-to-go trailer weights vary wildly. There might be some good info available from previous discussions - I'd try a Search.

I would supply my Boler's weight, but it's a 17' so it is not relevant here.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Thanks so much!

We found a label that had the hitch weight at 750, Pull weight 1250. Still not too sure it will be good for the transmission on my car to pull that....

My 74 13' Boler scaled at 1450 lbs. ready for travel......no furnace and no spare tire.....just for fun check the tag on your axle.....my trailer is overloaded by about 250 lbs....but most of that is taken up by my tongue weight........what year is your Boler? ...Benny

Hi,

We finally took time at the start of a trip last year to visit our local junk-yard scale.

Fully loaded, our '77 Boler Voyageur (cupboards front & rear, fridge & furnace, spare, but no water in tank) weighed in at 800 kg, or 1,620 lbs, surprisingly higher than the "brochure weight" of 950 lbs.

We measured the tongue weight on our bathroom scale at 160 lbs -- which is the recommended proportion of 10%.
