Nearly finished with the fiberglass repairs inside and out. Just a have a couple spots on one of the window edges and above the door. I've been adding a thin layer of Bondo to level things out. I plan to block sand it after applying sandable pimer.

"AOL"?

That's a new one for me, forum shorthand-wise...translation, please!

AOL = Absent Without Leave (in other words... ran off)

It's a "military term"... but we didn't give him permission to "leave" us

Yes...

Actually, "MIA" might be more apropos in this case since it looks like our egg-fixin' friend is Missing In Action!

Sorry for being gone so long. The weather has been wet and cold and I'm a sissy now. I nearly have it ready to paint. I white primered the top half but the bottom needs a few more pits and holes filled. I think the repaired areas look pretty good although shiny paint will probably show otherwise. Fixed a few sags that were already there but I know it won't be perfect. My wife kindly reminded me that I'm not that tall so I won't have to look at them.

Hope you nickname him "Humpty Dumpty". You've done an amazing job on the restoration. Thanks for sharing your progress.

Thank you! Just snapped a couple more. Still lots of work to do. Notice all the original windows survived.

I INSIST that the bashed in "before" pic I retrieved from earlier in the thread belongs in slot number one of that group you just posted...

This is one of the most dramatic rescues I think I've ever seen!

I won't be bored for a while. I spent the past couple days dropping the axle 4 1/2". I like the way it sits a lot better now. Not as likely to bang it up. I had to fix a couple damaged fiberglass areas on the lower corners and don't want to repeat that. The interior needs to be put back in including reflectix and hull liner. Surprisingly only one four inch break on the overhead fiberglass cupboard. I think I'll see if my Dad will help me make some new doors. Although he's 84 he still does a lot of wood work. Good excuse to take a 900 mile road trip.
