About to be Casita owners say hello!

Hi all. After researching RVs for several weeks and considering a wide variety of RVs, my wife and I decided to buy a Casita. We're from Cincinnati. In our RV evaluation process, several kind people from this area showed us their Casitas. We've been camping for decades, but until about 8 years ago, we always camped in tents. Then our backs started telling us we were too old to sleep onto ground. So we bought our first camper - a hard side pop up. We used it for about 8 years and loved it. This year we decided that it was too difficult for us to deal with and more maintenance would be needed in the future than we were willing to deal with, so we sold it (full disclosure, of course). We are buying a Casita Liberty 17 which we pick it up in Rice at the end of September. We've been all over the country and plan to continue exploring. We look forward to meeting Casita owners and interacting here on the forums.

Hi Dave!

Welcome and congratulations! We bought our new to us '05 Casita 17' FD in the Fall, '15 from a great guy in Cincinnati that was kind enough to deliver it to our driveway 240 miles away! We had never towed and did not own a tug at the time.

Laura and I go to lots of rallies. Hope to see ya in the campground!

Take care,

Dean

What configuration is your 16'? I have a Casita 16' Spirit with front and side gouchos that convert to 4 bunks. Have never talked to anyone who has seen another.

Welcome!

Hi Dave and welcome to fiberglass rving! We bought our 17' Casita SD new in 2015 and couldn't be happier. We spend the Pennsylvania winters in Florida and tow the camper back and forth, stopping here, there, and yonder on the journey. It's such a great way to travel, so comfortable, convenient and easy to tow. We just love it! Be sure to check out the Casita Forum too.
The best advice we got when we drove to Rice to pick out our new camper was to arrive with one of those little stick on rubber, half-moon bumpers to put on the camper door. It will prevent the door from flying open in the wind and banging against the belly band and possibly damaging the fiberglass on the door. We didn't quite believe it was necessary but guess what? First stop when we opened the door that strong wind whipped it out of my hand and "boom" that rubber bumper saved the day!
Enjoy your new camper!

Welcome Dave. You could jump right in and bring your new Casita to the rally at Caesar Creek State Park, Ohio, starting Sept. 27-Oct 1.

It is an opportunity to see lots of mods, meet great people, and eat good food.
