Casita 15 inch wheel lug nut torque?

I replaced the tires, and today I put grease in to the axle bearing. Now I have to tighten the lug nuts to the correct torque.

I have a 2015 Casita 17ft SD with 15 inch tires, I guess the rims are steel. I believe the torque needs to be 100lbs. I bought a torque wrench and a socket, the wrench goes up to 100lbs.

I put the trailer back on the ground, so I am ready to tighten the wheels. Anyone know the correct torque?

90-120 ft-lbs, per this chart on e-trailer. So 100 ft-lbs would be good.

Since the highest setting is 100, I don't know that it will be accurate when set to the very top of its scale. Much like a weight scale, it might be most accurate closer to mid-range. I suspect it will work fine, esp since the specs call for 90-120, but can't be sure. I have one of the cheap Harbor Freight torque wrenches and its highest setting is 150.

Our Casita SD17 has a sticker in the wheel well that says torque to 90 to 95 Ft lbs. I always work around the wheel doing every other nut and bring them up to spec about 20 ft lb at a time. I have a Snap-on torque wrench that goes up to 150

I will look for that, I had looked in the rim and didn't see it.

The 2015 Casita Guide says 100 ft-lbs is good. And don't forget tighten in "star" (alternating) pattern! BTW, a mechanic (with a sense of humor) once told me to torque the lug nuts until they snap off, then turn 'em back a couple turns!!

The first torque wrench I bought from Harbor Freight I took to a friend's auto repair shop and had him compare it with his expensive ones (2 different styles). It was off 15% on the high side on both of his, Returned it and the replacement was off 5%. Figured it was close enough for what I do.

And in stages, similar to 33, then 66, then 100 (or 25/50/75/100) foot pounds.

Don't forget to set the torque wrench to 0 while in storage. If you keep it at max setting while in storage the springs could stretch and throw the settings off.
