Bigfoot Window Moulding (Glazing Bead)

Hi There,

Picked up a 1980 Bigfoot (17 foot) and the window glazing beads have shrunk over time. I am looking to replace them, however they are not the style of glazing bead I am familiar with from other trailers.

I've been two a few RV places and no one stocks or has seen this style before. Hoping someone else has had the same issue and found a solution?

Try sun-view industries, Summerland BC. They were the origional manufacturers of our windows. I got all new moldings for mine a couple years ago there.

Hi Kees, I acquired a 1986 Bigfoot B17 a few years ago and was looking to do some repairs on the windows as well and I emailed the company which manufactured the windows for Bigfoot and they said they do have replacement parts available. They actually are located in B.C. which is lucky for you. I live in California and after talking to their rep I decided not to proceed because of the cost of shipping, but they were very helpful in answering my questions. Here's the info:

Wondering how difficult it was to replace the moldings. Did you replace the tracks for the sliding windows as well? Did they ship the parts or did you visit the factory to get the parts. Thanks.

I replaced the tracks also, they were the hardest to replace. Very hard plastic on the tracks. I used a heat gun and warmed them up, seemed to help them snap into place.

Dave, forgot to answer your question regarding shipping. Factory shipped to me. As I recall the moldings were spendy.

I ordered enough track to do my Bigfoot 17CB about 3 years ago. and I recall the track cost about $40 U.S but the shipping cost another $40 or so.

I have the same glazing! It's in my 1981 Casita. I was wondering if you were able to acquire this elusive seal? I am having one heck of a time and you are the fist person I've seen, and I've been looking hard everywhere, that has ever seen this! Lol

Hey, slow reply haha.

I did reach out to Sun View, and sent along a picture of the moulding. They said they don't carry anything like that so no luck there.

I continued on with re-using the old mouldings and filling some gaps with black caulk.

Haha! I just picked her up a month or so ago.
These seals are beyond saving, besides pulling out tons of old caulk one of the previous owners so lovingly applied (sarcasm at its finest), I believe I'm now gonna have to customise some seals.
