Wonder if new Scamp door design will look like this...
I've read a few threads now that talk about a new flat door design that Scamp will be utilizing on its newest builds.
I saw this Play-Mor II for sale which shows a similar design to the Scamp 13' with the flat door. I wonder if this is what the Scamp will look like?
I realize the Play-Mor is quite older. I'm eager to see the new design and I keep trying to visualize it.

I agree, not too bad. This one appears to have a door opening of 90 degrees.
I just can't wait to see what the newer Scamps will look like, if it is even going to happen.
All speculation at this time, but a couple of folks who are buying new have made mention of the flat door even though no one has been able to produce a photo.

door
I agree it doesn't look bad but .... it would seem to me to make better sense to have the opening pouch out rather than in . If out you could open the door all the way for ventilation whereas if pouched in your door would be a wind sail if open plus might make entry cumbersome . I realize some aerodynamic problem but i would thing not significant . Lee

Like this?
The Scamp motorhome has a flat door. It might give you an idea of what the trailer door fit might look like. Although the body of the motorhome has much flatter sides.

Wonder if new Scamp door...
It does look good, but will it reduce the width of the entrance by the thickness of the door? It would certainly be easier to replace or repair.

Wonder if the new Scamp door design will look like this
I just viewed the picture posted by Donna D of the Scamp camper on a Ranger truck chassis . I never knew of any such built . It must be very rare, the Toyota versions are the only ones I have seen around here .
Thanks for posting it ! Duane

Scamp never built on the Toyota platform, though several other molded fiberglass makers did. Sunrader is the best known.
Scamp did build a few- very few- on the first generation Dodge Dakota as well as the Ford Ranger.

They were making Play Mor 5th Wheelers in Australia from some parts sent from the US. When Play Mor folded in rhe US, 5th wheelers were redesigned here to a more contemporary look and built totally here. Now company calls themselves Summer Life

"Innies" limit the range of door motion. "Outies" catch wind and road rash. I'm with Steve. I like my curved door. I wish Scamp had invested in designing a better core for the curved door rather than a flat door.

Thank you for additional visuals Jon!
I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would think of RV doors in a belly button way.

This was posted over on the Scamp Travel Trailers Facebook group. But, it's not showing on the Scamp Trailers website.... yet.

That actually looks pretty good. Maybe I could be persuaded...
Looks like pleated pull-down shades inside, too.

Thank you for posting the screen capture Donna D.
I'm pleasantly surprised. Looks like they were able to make it work without detracting from the egg shape design too much.
Must be a whole different hinge system as well. Not different, just incorporated into the door.

Me too better than I thought. but no new trailers for me. I have run out of space. that means I would have to divorce the old one but i am too loyal. I have this fault of buying stuff and getting too personal and not letting stuff go. product of an impoverished child hood.
