Thanks. I needed to get inside so the weather here doesn't get too cold for the FG. Our highs are in the 40's for most of the days this week and next so will be inside for the FG but will push it out on Thursday (62 high) for the woodworking for the table and seats. At least that is the plan. 88 must be really nice, although the year we lived in Vista, CA I did miss the fall colors and the crisp air.

More work this afternoon on the inside. Finished up a number of little things, and got all the lights back on the outside, so when the frame comes back I'll be ready if I have to tow it somewhere. I will leave it in the garage for now.

The LED brake lights and running lights have such small wires because they take so little current. I am running #12 around since that is what I have, so I wound up having to cut about half of the wire out after stripping it, and moving down a little in the size of the crimp connectors. I got the wiring in for the most part, need to get more of the cabinets in now.

So I mounted the one at the back. FG it in so there are no holes. It was a little hard to start drilling holes for the brake lights after working so hard to get all the holes filled

I'm trying something in the upper cab -- I'm going to epoxy a strong magnet to the inside and see how it works for holding the door shut. You can see a magnet holding the inside magnet in place.

Today was a thinking day. Did a lot of little things, mostly getting set up to put everything back in. My wife Pam picked out the interior colors, so cabs will get painted soon, and then start going back in. Figured out how to do the bed extension, worked through some issues with the stove and the A/C cab and how to vent it without having leaks, patched a bunch of holes in a couple of the cabs, and hooked up the last of the electric. Thursday is supposed to be in the 60's so I am hoping to get all the painting done that day.

Those thinking days sure helped me when I was working on my 12-volt problem (how FUN to talk about it in the past tense!)

Do you have plans of painting the outside a different color than white? Just curious.

It's turned colder here this week. Glad I got my painting done when it was in the 80s. I'm considering painting my cabinets, but for now I just did the doors, so they wouldn't clash as much with the flooring I'm putting down.

Thanks for posting the update, I look forward to reading them.

eric your a/c

Erick are you going through the wall of your scamper to add a/c. the lighter weight and a 6k makes more sense to me than the 13,500 monstrocity on the roof of our 13f which we will never use anyway!

Thanks for the encouragement. I will paint the outside next spring. There are a lot of slight color variations on the white due to the time spent in the sun, so I think a paint will be the best solution, but I think that will ahve to wait for Spring, and probably will paint it something besides white.

The A/C will mount low, in the Cab as you come in, and will be able to be taken out when it is cooler and not needed. That will give us a space for a heater to put in, or extra blankets, etc. Figured out last night a way to get the seal I want for both of those things.

The acrylic I ordered for the back window fits well after cutting, but it is not what I thought, you can't see out, it is solid black, so will order something your can see out of, and finish that window. I have the rubber piece on order that I think I need, so hopefully it will all be the right stuff.

I'll post pictures as I get the builds started for the A/C and for the side cabs and bed setup.

Made the piece for covering the A/C slot. Used 6 layers of FG mat fully wetted out. I set it up over wax paper, so when it started curing I could flip it over and make sure everything was covered. I made it larger than needed to compensate for the rough edges, then trimmed it to size.

It is about 3/16 thick and I cut it to size after about an hour, and now will let it finish curing under a little tension to hopefully take a bit of the curve of the side. I will be putting weather stripping around the outside, and fit it with enough pressure to stop any leaks. Will also fit the A/C with weather stripping to keep things dry inside.

Today was finishing some on the plumbing. Took my granddaughter to lunch after Kindergarten and she played a while then came and helped "work on the camper" with me. She loved doing a little with the plumbing. I am putting PEX in, so she used the cutter to cut the pieces and then helped hold things as I crimped. Then held the outside while I snugged up the inside. Was a lot of fun.

After she left, my other granddaughter came from school (3rd grade) and helped me cut down the stove top to go better with the knobs in the front. She used the jigsaw with me helping on the back. After we did that -- she said it was boring to watch me work on other things and went and read a book! Oh well

This evening I made the pieces that will go in the holes under the seats/bed. Made them out of some oak plywood I had in the shop. Should have just painted them, but can't force myself to paint oak Also made a small oak piece to epoxy to the ceiling above the cab for the microwave to mount the LED light on.

Tomorrow was going to be outside paint day, but looks like it will rain all day, so will have to sand cabs in shop, and paint a few at a time.

Not enough room.

So many hobbies, so little time, even less garage space!

After cutting down the stove and turning it, I began to fix the hole that was left. Took a little FG and cut to fit the back side and glassed it in. When it cures, probably tomorrow, will flip it over, and fix the top. Then paint it with the color we are using inside. I will also paint the stove with a high heat spray paint to dress that up and make a grate for it so it can be used. Probably should buy a new one, but have enjoyed trying to make all the parts I got fit and be useful. I have replaced a number of electrical things, and the water pump. Since the lines were pretty filled with crud, I decided I really did not want to take a chance on that.

Today was also a painting day. I got the insides of the walls for the shower painted, and the wall by the door. Have the cabinet over the stove done, and will finish the rear seat cabinets tonight, and install them. Waiting now for the paint to dry. So cabinets to build in the next couple of days, then a lot of assembly to do. Getting real

I have started putting the cabinets back in. Everything is painted and The sink and stove top are back in, the upper over the stove is mounted and glassed back in, the piece next to the door is glassed in, and the back bed cabinets are screwed into the supports. The support for the table is glassed in under it, and I will put two dowels to hold and support that end, and build a table leg for it. That should be done tomorrow, along with the new cabinets on the walls that will form the bed. All coming along. I will take some specific pics tomorrow of the design stuff.

Thanks Lisa! I hope the keep going on it next week and have it ready for the frame when it comes back from the shop.

Today I got the new table made, and finished, and the support leg is made, and first coat of finish. The side cabinets are in now, and I will make the doors tomorrow. They are all going to be painted to match the other cabinets, only the upper doors will have an accent color. I have all the foam airing out in the sun airing out during the days, but the days aren't very long. Cut the holes for the stereo speakers and put in a number of little things like outlets etc. The lexan came today, so tomorrow I will cut it, and perhaps put the windows back it. Few more things to glass in, and everything will be in place.

The hole in the side floor cabinets is for filling the water tank if I need to add a few gallons. I left the space between the cabinets so the water tank is visible about 1 1/2 inches wide. I think I will mark something so I know how much water is left.
