Water Pump Replacement - ‘05 Casita 17’ FD

Hi All,

I need to replace the water pump on our ‘05 Casita 17’ FD. The bad water pump is a SHURflo 2088-422-144. It looks like this exact model is no longer made, but I am a little confused over the replacement. Based on a little research, it looks like the replacement will be a SHURflo 4008-101-E65. Has anyone had any experience replacing the SHURflo 2088-422-144 water pump in a Casita?

Hi Dean, I've replaced maybe 3 pumps over the years for various problems. All were Sureflo's and to be honest, I never looked at the model #s, just bought the current market model. I never noticed any difference in flow, vibration or noise in any one of them from the one it replaced. It worked, water in, water out, I was good to go .

Whatever the pump, does your system have a filter screen between the tank and the pump? Ours did not, and some debris from inside the tank got into the pump and kept one or two of the check valves from seating properly. It would not hold pressure, so the pump kept cycling every 5 seconds.

Yup, we have a filter screen between the fresh tank and the water pump.
