Up here in the great white north, that is maple.
Maple has a slight more color that birch, and is more readily available for the millwork industry.

Yep, my 1988 Deluxe is Eastern Maple.

Actually it's Birch according to Scamp, it might be just a bit over exposed in the picture.

Most of them have much more variegation than shown in the pictures. Look at the top of the open door in the second picture, or above the door on the cabinet face in the first picture.


Also on some trailers, they seemed to have color matched more than others.
