Sandy, what is your dry weight?
I have a max two package 2013 1500 Silverado rated at abt 9,000.
I have an Andersen hitch on my 17 ft Casita and like it as well.

Dry weight is fine, just discovered my 6 ft truck bed isn't long enough. Who knew.

Good luck.

Good luck.

My Ford has a 5.5 bed and is fine with the 5.0 TA. No issues using the Andersen hitch. Easy hookup and unhooking.

That's odd...the issue is supposed to be turning a tight corner, according to experts, unless you buy accommodating equipment.
Ill talk to my dealer here and do further research.
Thanks

Actually, even with a slider, you have to get out of your vehicle to make sharp turns according to Etrailer I believe....too chancy for me.
If I were closer, I could see the trailer in person and get a better sense of the situation.
Thanks and good luck.

No, not true. No trouble turning with this hitch.
Others have this set up too. I hope they chime in with their knowledge.

I have a 6.5' bed to tow my 5.0TA, but that is because I wanted it for storage reasons. Lots of folks tow this trailer with a 5.5' bed, probably most. I too use the Anderson Ultimate Hitch and love it.

120 degree turns

We tow a 5.0 TA with a 5' bed Canyon. I can make real tight turns with the Andersen Ultimate hitch when the rails centerline is installed just 7" behind the top center of the axle. Thus, the tailgate goes down fully with walk room between the trailer. When it drops on the ball, the 1600# payload bed goes down maybe a couple inches. You just have to reverse the direction of the hitch frame and of Andersen receiver; it's made for that. Tows easily, the truck fits in the garage, and the 30# hitch frame hangs on the wall and all you have in the bed is the rails. Happy camping.
