Amerigo Reno Do's and Don'ts

Hi there!

I am going to be looking at an Amerigo trailer this coming weekend in need of a lot of work. I hope to take it home but I want to make sure it something that will work for me. I have been looking into these trailers and its hard to find concrete info on them (unless Im looking in the wrong places). I was wondering if anyone could give a concise rundown on some general information for them:
- ballpark dry weight
- ballpark packed weight
- ballpark hitch weight

I was also seeing that these trailers have a double hulled ceiling? In that case I will be looking out for that when I go take a look at it. In regards to the ceiling and other aspects of the trailer, would someone be able to provide insights into the absolute do's and don'ts of renovating?

Thanks so much! Im hopeful and excited
Dustin

Dry weight shell empty of total interior and fixtures about 900 lbs.

Dry weight complete ready to camp none of your "Stuff" in the trailer about 1800 lbs.

Dry weight loaded with stuff ready to camp for most folks about 2100 lbs.

Tonque weight about 250 lbs loaded ready to camp.

These trailers sit low to the ground due to the shell channeled down onto the frame rather than the shell sitting on top the frame like most every other fiberglass trailer which is a good thing! An easy axle flip from over the springs to under the springs will raise the trailer about 3 inches giving you much better ground clearance and is a great and easy mod to complete.

Here is a GREAT thread for U to read about Amerigo's:

Thanks for that info! And thanks for tagging that thread. Interesting read. I will definitely take a better look underneath when I go to see it.
