Good suggestion Bob, but not feasible in my situation. The single car length driveway to the garage slopes down from a 4 lane major city artery.

As for expense - the existing wooden mezzanine was poorly built and needs replacing as it is starting to collapse. The garage door is on it's last legs. If I have to replace those already it is not that much more to go from a 7' high to 8' door. Bonus is I won't have to pay for offsite storage and it gives me a place to work on the trailer out of the elements. Plus I won't have to swap tires/rims twice on a hill every time we use the trailer.

Do you have pictures posted of your Hunter painted?

I really don't know about single stage paint. Two part automotive paints (base coat/clear coat) are easy to polish, and done right, can really gleam!

Another tip for a really well covering primer (if you have a compressor and spray gun set-up) is polyester primer. You could tape a quarter to your trailer and bury it with this stuff. I'm using it this coming spring on a hot rod body I bought that needs major help. I'll prime it, then block sand it to get it smooth and straight.

What do you use to clean the brush when painting with Brightsides Marine Enamel? I have thinner 333, but am not sure if that's the right thing to clean brush between uses.

Between coats, I put the brush in a Ziplock bag, squeeze the air out and put it in the fridge. Works with latex and enamel anyway.

Tacoman- on Interlux Brightside? Just wanting to be sure, because the specs call for their specific thinner, but I'm wondering if I can cheat a little just to clean the brushes.

I used varsol as well for cleaning the brushes. I just threw the rollers away and used new ones for each coat.

I agree with replacing application equipment. I think a dried up paint brush and roller in the landfill are a lot better than all the varsol it takes to clean them.
