camping Checklist
I have a 1980 13 ft. Boler no bathroom. I am looking for ideas for a checklist of what to take when hitting the road.
I know there are lots of lists on internet but I think our little Fiberglass units are a little different. Most of the lists are for fully equipped RV's
What do you take besides the basics, like Pots Pans, Jack Spare, Cooking stuff, etc.

I bring a floor jack that can roll under the axle and lift a wheel with - and a lug wrench that fits the trailer. Sounds silly to say it out loud but think about it, mine doesn't come with a jack kit like my car does.
Edit- duh maybe I should read your post! You already have a jack and a spare.
Ok, so I also bring a fresh first aid kit each trip. When I'm at the store getting whatever I just grab the larger plastic box first aid kit and throw it in there. Everytime I've tried to reuse one that is already in there I find out too late that it has been opened and the kids have used up all the Band-Aids!!!

Supposed to jack on the frame near the axle, but not on the axle itself.

3 rolls of duct tape.
5 pairs of scissors
10 cases of beer
A large bottle of aspirin.
A large bucket - to keep of needing to run the toilet a little less often.
Enough stakes to feed 1/2 an army.
The largest gas BarBQ grill you can find.
Every pot and pan you have.
I'm sure there's other things but that's a start.

There are several Apps for this. I used one for a while. The list was oriented to large RVs but could be modified to include your specific task list. It was a checklist that you reset for each trip. As I recall, it had lists for packing, hookup, and set up. I used it for a while until I got the routine down.

When we first started backpacking many years ago we kept a list so wouldn't forget things. As time went a list was less and less necessary. Part of the reason the backpacks were always packed except for food and ready to. After 12 years of using the trailer we've ended in the same position. The only have to pack is few clothes and food. Much of our clothes are already in the trailer. If you tent camped the packing list is pretty close to same. Everybody is different try to think about you will need (not necessarily what might be nice to have). After the needs you put the nice to have in.
You need some sort of cooking pot or pan depending on what you plan on cooking.
You need something eat off of like a plate or a bowl.
You need eating tools.
You sleeping stuff (we use sleeping bags)
You need a certain amount of clothing depending on the expected weather.
And you need food.
Nice to have are things like chairs to sit outside on
What you don't need is large BarBQs. An outdoor kitchen, tables, awnings, screen houses, Television (if you camp outside an urban area probably wont work anyway. Don't need stereo or radio, or computer. A book or two or kindle reader are nice. Bicycles may be nice to but not necessary.
But spend some time thinking about what your are planning on doing. Can you relax and not do much or do you have to always on the go (type A)? All this makes a difference.

Before you know it, you'll be making a list of what you don't need and what to remove from the trailer to lighten the load.

I have a 'trailer' list of where everything is stored so Hubby can find things.
Then I have a 'trip' list of groceries, clothes, medicines, optionals etc. for this trip. That way I don't forget the wine or some other absolutely needed item.
The 'trailer' list is about 4 pages and lives in the trailer, the 'trip' list is one page.

Byron, great list. I am sure you have discovered how to miniaturize all that stuff? Or perhaps, DEHYDRATE. LOL!

A credit card, autoclub with Rv tow, a cell phone, a jack, spare tire and a lug wrench. That is the minimum. After that you have to justify why you need it. Everything can be fixed with the first 6 items. I can justify the half ton of stuff I bring but it just adds more work for me.

Yeah Steve, we both know that we don't need much of a reason for bringing that 1/2 ton of gear and supplies, even though we probably don't use half the stuff we schlog around, we always bring it anyway. I'm guilty of always bringing way more crap than I ever need or use. But then, I do have it available if I want it...

We stock our trailer in the spring for the summer camping season.
Paper goods ( plates bowls , paper towels , toilet paper)
Food ( Dried , canned , coffee , drink mixes , spices ,cereal,
pasta , juice in drink boxes etc etc)
Clothes ( Jeans , shorts ,underwear ,socks ,T Shirts, essentials)
Hygiene ( hand soap , dish soap , laundry detergent, hand sanitizer , towels , wash rags , Shampoo , tooth paste , etc.
We only make a list of fresh foods we need for the trip
and stock accordingly.
We often head out for a 2 or 3 day trip without stocking fresh food and just pickup what we need at a store near our destination
( eggs , milk , fruit , bread , produce , meat , butter , etc.
Things such as cords , hoses , tools , Jack , small gas grill , parts etc etc stay in the back of our truck all year.
Unloading the trailer / vehicle completely after every trip just leads to a longer list , more to remember and forgetting things at home !
