Casita fridge vent

We have a 1999 Casita SD. I'd like to put some fans in the upper vent area of the fridge. Cas has the old-style vent that's riveted in pace.


Has anyone replaced theirs with the newer style removable vent? Looks like it should go right into place. Plus, it would help facilitate maintenance.

Me, I put a solar powered fan on the top of the fridge cover on the roof.

Casita's don't vent through the roof. They vent behind the fridge with 2 access panels one low and one higher up. It is very difficult to put a fan in them with the wood in between the panels. I've seen some put clip on fans on the panels on the inside of them.

Fortunately our Casita has the removable panels. Yes it is much nicer. Only problem is the wood between the panels and the tightness of everything at the floor line of the fridge with the burner tube, etc makes it almost impossible to put a fan in them. I have seen a couple people use the clip on fans inside the vent cover and it looks like it works nicely. I just don't know how to access the correct wire to do it without messing them up. Good luck. I think you could put a removable vent cover where you want to. If the opening is to small the fiberglass is easy to cut with a hacksaw. We had to do that for a larger hot water heater when we owned a 1985 model.
