Amerigo FG16

Where exactly, I mean to the inch, where do I find the VIN on an Amerigo FG16?
Pictures would be helpful.
Found one I would like to restore, but cannot find the VIN, only RVI number (called them and they said it means nothing) and a Patent number.

Welcome to FGRV Dan. I'm surprised that none of our Amerigo owners haven't chimed in yet. Vin numbers are normally stamped on the A frame. It may be covered by the LP tank holder or many coats of paint and not easy to see. There have been a few folks that bought TTs that had the A frame replaced over time and the numbers are gone. If you have a good title with the VIN, a set of metal stamps and a coat of paint will make it an easy fix. The DMV will take a quick look, (it's not a Lambo), sign it off, take your money and you're good to go.

The vin on my '72 is hand stamped on top of the left (drivers) side frame rail just in front of the shell. HTH

Here's a pic of my vin. Notice they stamped "Amerigo" twice along with the vin and the production date. An interesting side note is that mine shows a May 1972 build date on the frame but the date it was sold is Dec of '72.
Did they stamp every one of them in this location? There's really no way to say. Even though they were all produced in Bristol, IN I'm sure different workers @ different times of the production cycle did things differently. Searching on the top of the frame between the hitch and the shell is your best bet.

BTW the patent # is for the hitch assembly itself, nothing to do with amerigo.
