the gas lines pretty much had to be re-plumbed. cost was $275 cash but I feel better about using the trailer now. fired up the fridge last night for the first time and it's ice cold this morning. looking forward to the maiden run in 2 weeks.

I was told a couple of code issues that may be useful to others down the road.
1. only 1 flair fitting per appliance is permitted inside the living space.
2. copper line for gas is much heavier than the stuff for water.
3. compression fittings are not legal as gas fittings.
4. your insurance may be void if the job is not done by a certified pro.

I know codes vary from place to place but it seemed to be good advise anyway.

I wonder why compression fittings aren't legal?? As an instrument tech I work with Swagelok fitting in the oil and gas field all the time and would trust those long before I'd go with flair fittings.....but thats just my 2 cents.

that's what he told me... I don't know diddly about it so I'll have to take his word. I think it may have been the coupler I used to join the copper pipe... code may not allow for that? would be interesting to see this book of code if it exists.

Thumbs up

Where did you go to have your system checked?

I would think any RV maintenance/repair shop could do it, but around here, "any" is not necessarilly where ya wanna go.

if you're in Winnipeg, Gord's Auto on Madison near Polo Park did it for me. many of the dealer use him.
