Anyone else have historical plates on their egg?

I just stopped by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and picked up historical plates for my 1985 Uhaul CT-13. I do know the limitations of historical plates but for my usage I can get by just fine, plus they allow use for "club" events. By the way, the plates were $26.50 one time fee

Here is what the Ohio BMV says:

[§ 4503.18.1] § 4503.181 Historical motor vehicles.
(A) As used in this section, "historical motor vehicle" means any motor vehicle that is more than twenty-five years old and that is owned solely as a collector's item and for participation in club activities, exhibitions, tours, parades, and similar uses, but in no event is used for general transportation.

My egg is not a historical motor vehicle. It's a travel trailer. These plates are not used in Oregon except on motor vehicles.

I have "Historical" plates on my '67 Camaro and used it frequently to drive to work and periodic roadtrips. The TEXAS law must be different.

I dont know about historical plates in Texas but I know if you have a trailer with farm tags you can't let your buddy borrow it or use it to haul a car it must be farm related only, It's easier to just get regular trlr tags and from what I understand if it weighs less than 3,000#'s you do not need to get it inspected.

Ontaro, Canada laws state that the vehicle must be at least 30 years old and substantially unchanged or modified. [How many 30 year old trailers are still virtually virgin?]
Cost.... a staggering

get this

$251.65

Now you may send in an old plate of the same year as the vehicle and they will determine if the alpha numerical lettering are already in use or not. If not then you may attach the returned plate to your vehicle.

This does not include trailers.

The OBMV clerks were not sure if it was allowed and they made a call and it was allowed, the computer also did not reject it which also told them it was allowed. I checked the internet beforehand and it was discussed and used by many of the Airstream croud.

My motorcycle is over 25 and I have a Ky historic plate on it. Keeps me from having to re-license it every year. (lots easier and cheaper). I plan on asking for one on my trailer in 2030.

Are we discussing motor vehicle laws here or trailer registration? Yes, most states allow a motor vehicle more than x number of years historical tags which normally limits the number of days driven, to/from car shows. But I'm not aware of historical trailer registration. For that matter, in a year, we all may qualify since our trailers are used less than xxx number of miles, if our unit is more than 20 years old. I think there was a mistake made in Ohio, your trailer is not a motor vehicle, imho.

It was not a mistake, the regs state "motor vehicle" but a house vehicle was allowed and the historical plates for my CT-13 are in the mail. The BMV called it to somebody for a second opinion because the ladies at the branch I was at had never done it before, but at another branch they didn't have any questions, I just didn't have the title at the time. The only qualification is that the vehicle/trailer is 25 years old in Ohio and of course the restrictions listed above.
