Casita newbie

Just about a year ago, I ordered a Casita. She will be rolling off the line in a few weeks.

I have no idea what I’m getting myself into. I just know that my aging back could not take tent camping anymore!

I’m super excited, and I suspect I will be turning to this forum a lot for tips!

You lucky gal!! You will LOVE it! Get used to strangers (i.e. new friends) wanting to see it inside & out everywhere you go. Of course, at the campsight you’ll get invited next door for an iced tea or a beer. Ours is only a 2012, but perfect for us. Stay plugged into the fiberglassrv.com group.

Congrats! It will be exciting. We picked ours up in 2019. Spent last summer traveling from Virginia to California. Camp nearby the factory the first day. Then if you have any questions they are just down the road. Take your time hooking up & taking down the Casita.
As advised download the Casita book. Getting the hot water to work for the first time can be confusing. The fridge takes a while to cool. We add frozen icepacks to the fridge when we want to cool the fridge for camping. We park in our backyard, so we can take our time getting ready to camp.
Ask Casita if they have a soft start on the AC unit. If they do not look into having one installed. It will allow you to start your AC with a smaller generator or plugged in at home. Plus without it, your AC thumps when it comes on & will wake you up. With a soft start, all you hear is the fan coming on, then the AC softly starts. We went from a 3500 KW generator that sometimes would overload on the AC, to a 2000 KW generator.

We also scheduled at https://littlehomeontheroad.com/ to get some upgrades done.
Wish you the best.
