I also think the price is pretty steep for what you are getting. You may want to look around a little more at your options.

I had an awning made for $190 (7x8) including delivery. I just picked the Sunbrella color I that wanted and specified the trim (fringed scalloped edge, etc). Drawback - It's not a bag awning, its rope & pole style. BUT, you could get a bright yellow one if you wanted !! The material colors/patterns are only limited to whatever Sunbrella makes (and they have a LOT of variety).

How does it attach to your camper? Do you need an awning rail to install?

Rope/pole or bag awnings, all require a rail. They're not very difficult to install. As opposed to the bimini awning, there are more loose parts to a pole/rope awning.

Jim,
I like the look of the bimini. We have the original Dometic box awning. Although I've learned how to open and close the Dometic, it can still be a bit tempormental.
The biggest benefit to an awning is the shelter that lets us keep the curb side window and door open during a hot, humid summer rain. The bimini would still allow leaving the window and door open at a fraction of the weight.

Can the little piece of trim be added so I can use this type of awning?

I added this to my camp gear this summer. I had to order it from the UK, but it works really well to add some shade. It's a Coleman Classic Awning, but for some reason they don't sell it here on this side of the pond.
I did a minor mod, attaching a couple of straps at the corners nearest the egg. The straps loop around the case for the box awning and make it very quick to attach.

I'm surfing old posts to read up on the bimini and I see you also had the TaDa camper! That was one I looked at and of course couldn't find anything since 2009 was last year, I was looking for all electric back before I got my current sticky, now still looking for the egg camper, but now I want to ask what drew you to the tada and why from there did you go to the egg camper?

Actually I went with a Lance 1880 Trailer which had bubbles in the roof and then a 2007 Eggcamper because it was solid fiberglass. But I like to camp in the winter (T@da was a good winter camper) and the Eggcamper was not conducive to winter without electric hookups. Since then I have found Escape Trailers which can be outfitted for winter use.

I'm in the process of acquiring my 3rd Escape, a 2017 Escape 19 with thermal windows and tank protection.

Jim, do you honestly believe you'll have this trailer more than a year or two?
I wanted to switch majors in college to Physics. I went to the head of the department and said if you let me in "I'll get all A's". He said to me "Son, it's all right to fool me but don't fool yourself"
Of course wish you well with this one.

Yes, Norm
I'm reaching an age where my next camper will be a cabin in the woods.....or a wooden cabin underground!!

I suggest you consider something beyond a solitary cabin in the woods. We're loving a community of like souls. In some sense, I'm a loner, except for Ginny. I do have the capacity to be alone in a crowd, in my own little world of thought. Yet there is a comfort with the like souls, playing and working together with shared goals.

Our interest would not be for shade (we have a CLAM tent for that) but rather for rain deflection. For those of us who live in warm regions frequented by passing summer showers, it's nice to be able to open side window and door for ventilation without worrying about rain entering the camper. Having a covered outside area connected directly to the camper under which one can shake off a rain jacket and umbrella before entering the camper helps keep the inside dry, too. But that's just us....
