Tow Vehicle 1976 Trillium

So I'm looking at a 2.0 litre Ford Escape with Eco Boost which is rated by Ford to tow 3500 lbs. to pull my 76 Trillium. Yes, I know that I need the model with the turbo Eco Boost to get that capacity. But does anyone have this combination? How has it worked for you? Would a transmission cooler still be a good idea?
