The tale of the free Fiber Stream
I woke up one morning to a ad for a free Fiber stream. Since the ad was 5 days old already I thought it was a long shot but I called anyway. Talked to a nice lady named Pam who's husband had recently passed away. She had a few people flake out and at least one gentleman who had dashed her hopes of finding a good home for it by telling her it was not salvageable. I own a 1985 Fiber Stream and know the ins and outs of them having lived 6 months out of the year in it on movie and television sets over the years. She said she didn't care what we did with it, she just didn't want to see it go to waste. So me and the wife threw in the truck 2 spares, some tools, and a jack and drove 5 hrs. to see it. It was out in her field and was fairly rough but I checked it out, changed the tires, got the brake lights to work and wired the hitch down and off we went. Took us 6 1/2 hours to get it home but we made it. I worked on it for weeks, starting from the top down. PO had added a sky light which was leaking and then used everything from roofing tar to roof patch to stop the leak. 3 days later I had the roof cleaned, new vent and reinforcement in, AC unit checked, new seal and new shroud and every thing resealed. Then inside I installed new back shelf, new inside roof, reinforced benches and made new tops for them, tore out carpet and checked floor, laid new subfloor and flooring. New paint in bathroom and re caulked. Outside resealed all windows, removed old awning. cleaned and shined her up. Underneath wire brushed every bit of metal I could reach, treated with rust inhibitor, and undercoating.

I don't need 2 Fiber Streams so this one is for sale. As for the internet trailer troll who posted before pictures of this without seeing what I had done to this trailer and dashed the hopes of a lady trying to keep her husbands Fiber Stream from rotting away, Shame on you. You obliviously didn't have the skill, foresight, and ability to save this trailer. Shame on you!!!!!!!As for the lady who called and wanted us to prove we had 2 Fiber Streams and when we sent pics you never called back, Shame on you! Working in the movie biz I expect to run into people like you two, but not in the trailer world. And just to prove to anybody who doubts what I do for a living, Here is my link https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4757641/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

Sharknado 4??? LOL ;)
Great job on the FiberStream. Nice original condition. My husband and I are restoring one, as well. Love it! I'll post some photos when I have a moment.
Good luck!

Neat looking trailer. I've never seen one. You got a good deal since it was free and you fixed it like it should be. PO obviously had no clue how to fix things and that's what ruins any RV. You should sell it quickly. Glad you knew how to fix it an put a labor of love into it to save it.

Looked at the IMDB link. Pretty cool work there.
Beautiful work on the trailer. Looks ready for many more years of travel. Hope it finds a good home.

Nice job on the trailer. I had one once. I'd watch you don't overload it since the frame is built rather light.

Did you send the post reno pictures to the woman who gave you the trailer so she can know it was saved? I think you would be doing a bit of restoring faith if you did.

Great job! Glad to see another staying on the road. We just spent the last two weeks living in ours after we sold our house. Not the perfect solution for Oregon in the off season. Condensation in the shower area causes interior rain on your legs when you use the restroom in the morning.
Please consider joining one of the Oregon rally events. I'm curious to see what others have done with their Fiber Streams.
