1973 Ventura 13' - Brakes - Are there any?

Hello all. My first post. Glad to be a part of the community,

I am picking up a 1973 13 foot Ventura this weekend. The couple selling the trailer are selling for their daughter so don't have a lot of information on it. And it is out of province, so I can't take a look at it until I drive out this weekend.

My question is: The couple doesn't think there are any brakes on this trailer. Does anyone know if brakes came standard on these trailers?

But unless I’m totally wrong
A 4 pin plug does not have brakes
They require s 7 pin wiring harness.... at least that is what I thought

Thanks. The owner did say that this unit takes a 4 pin flat connection, so likely no brakes then.

When you look at the trailer
Look behind the wheel drums... if there is a square plate than most likely brakes can be added

i have a 72 Ventura and it does have electric brakes the original plug was a four pin but the brakes were not connected

Ours does not have brakes but looks like there’s space to add it.
