Engle makes 12v/120VAC units with swing compressors. Normal operation is less than 2A using 12VDC. The Combi frig/freezer chest units run around $1K. They also sell small cabinet mounted
refrigerator units for Class B and truck campers for around $750. These units can usually operate off of a 100 amp 12
battery and a 100 watt
solar panel with no issues. The Engle units come with 12V hook up so no need for an inverter. A friend of mine with a Snoozy really likes his Engle powered cooler freezer. I'm considering dumping a dorm frig set up for an Engel. Engel units are not the cheapest but they do draw the least current. Worth checking out. (Not connected with Engel.)
